Event details

An evening of new music in celebration of composer Rosalie Coopman, and to present the winning and runner up pieces of the inaugural 40 Plus Composition Competition in partnership with The Rosalie Coopman Music Foundation to celebrate composers over the age of 40.

The Rosalie Ensemble, a group of Trinity Laban alumni, will perform works by Trinity Laban MMus composition students, competition winning and runner up pieces, as well as music by Rosalie Coopman and Steven Gerber. The ensemble has been coached by The London Sinfonietta with funds from the Gerber Trust.

Established in 2022, The Rosalie Coopman Music Foundation aims to support the practice of musical composition. Entries for the Rosalie Coopman 40 Plus Composition Competition closed on 1st March with 58 submissions. The results will be announced in April and the winner will be awarded £2,000. This competition celebrates lifelong development of composers and provides a rare opportunity to have a piece professionally rehearsed, performed and recorded.
