Miro Treharne and Pietro Iacopini both met at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Miro is currently in her final year of the undergraduate course in Classical Vocal Studies under the guidance of her teacher, Patricia Rozario OBE while also receiving vocal coaching from Andrew Matthews-Owen; Pietro completed his Bachelor studies in Piano Performance with a First Class Honours at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where he has stayed for his postgraduate studies, kindly supported by the Beverley creed Scholarship. He is currently studying with Can Çakmur, Martino Tirimo and Sergio De Simone.

Together, they have collaborated for the past couple of years, performing recitals in venues such as The Old Royal Naval College, St Alfege Church, The University of Women Club, The Polish Club ‘Ognisko Polskie’ and St James Piccadilly among others. They both have an immense passion for Art Song and have won several competitions as a duo such as the English Song Duo Competition in 2023 and the Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Competition 2024. Furthermore, they have had the honour of performing in masterclasses led by renowned musicians such as Roderick Williams OBE, Roy Howat and Andrew West. They are also SongEasle Young Artist’s (2023-2024) with Miro being awarded the Sir William Boreman’s Scholarship.

Miro has performed as a soloist with a variety of established organisations, such as the ‘Music For A While’ music engagement programme with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, as well as being selected for numerous masterclasses with industry professionals such as Sally Burgess, Ailish Tynan and Laura Claycomb. Alongside her immense interest in Art Song, she has a strong passion for operatic performance and attended the Saluzzo Opera Academy in August as an Elizabeth Luxton Memorial Scholar, performing the role of ‘Tolomeo’ from Handel’s ‘Giulio Cesare’. Other prominent roles include ‘Second Woman’ in Errollyn Wallen’s ‘Dido’s Ghost’ in July 2024 with Trinity Laban Conservatoire, directed by Frederic Wake- Walker.

Pietro was born in Florence in 2002 and started to play the piano at the age of 10, studying at the Florence Conservatoire before moving to London in 2020. As well as performing solo recitals in and around London, he is also a very active chamber musician and accompanist, attending the prestigious Oxford Lieder Mastercourse in October 2023, as well as masterclasses with Roger Vignoles (Winterreise weekend at Conway Hall, French Song masterclass at Wigmore Hall) Lucy Crowe, Dame Felicity Lott, Sebastian Wybrew and Eugene Asti.

As a creative, Pietro leads his own 8 piece latin band ‘Salsa Cutty Sark’, for which he writes, arranges, sings and plays his original music rooted in Cuban and Latin American rhythms and influenced by his classical upbringing. He also plays keyboard for the London-based 12 piece afrobeat band ‘The Amalgam’, as well as percussion for the Florence-based found sounds street band, ‘Pulsar’.
