Event details

Visit Trinity Laban, and get an insight into life as a musical theatre student and performer!

An opportunity for 13-18 year-olds to rehearse and perform a song with a live orchestra, take part in practical workshops, and meet and get careers advice from musical theatre students and staff from Trinity Laban.

What does the day involve?

You will join other like-minded young performers from schools and colleges across London in an inspiring, intensive and hands-on day, taking part in singing, movement and acting workshops, and rehearsing a song together backed by a live orchestra of Trinity Laban musicians, led by top West End music director Verity Quade. This will all lead towards you taking part in a concert, where you will also get to experience some of Trinity Laban’s finest current musical theatre students sing a wide range of music, including songs from the likes of Wicked, Waitress and many others. Throughout the day, you’ll be led by expert staff with experience performing in the West End. You’ll also be supported by Trinity Laban Musical Theatre students and alumni who will offer advice and stories about life as a conservatoire student and career paths into musical theatre.

Who is the day aimed at?

The day is aimed at students aged 13 – 18 years old with an interest in the performing arts, and in particular musical theatre and singing. Once places are confirmed, everyone will be an allocated a song which they will rehearse and perform on the day, and for which learning resources will be sent out in advance. Some prior learning will enable students to get the most out of the day.

For schools and colleges

All groups must be accompanied by school/college staff. You may book as small a group as you wish, and up to around 30 students maximum. Subject to demand, we may be able to accommodate larger groups.

For Individuals aged 16 – 18 (Year 12+)

You can sign up to participate in the day too. You’ll need to have permission from your parents/carers and – if applicable – your school or college to attend. We will provide resources in advance to help learn your song ahead of the Experience Day.
