In Are You Sitting Comfortably?, choreographer Heidi Rustgaard and the Trinity Laban Dance Collective explore Rustgaard’s “one-note” concept, where the singular transforms into the plural. Beginning with the simplicity of everyday movements, the performers have developed a movement score that unfolds entirely from the act of sitting.

As the audience sits alongside the performers, the choreography emerges from this shared experience—sitting together, apart, in between, and next to one another. We sit with, we sit observed, and we sit as observers, creating a collective dance of presence, stillness, and connection.

Audience capacity: 45 (audience onstage with the dancers)

Tickets are free but need to be pre-booked as the audience is seated onstage with the dancers. There are a limited number of seats for this performance so if you book a ticket and then can’t make it, please let us know so that we can release your ticket to someone else.
