Henrietta is co-director of Independent Dance (ID) since 2018, leading the curation of an artist-led, dance development and research organisation. As part of this role she is lead tutor of the MA/MFA Creative Practice: Dance Professional programme, at Trinity Laban, curating and running its two core modules.

Richard studied at the University of Kent in Canterbury, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and with Renato Capecchi in the USA. He has performed with all the major British opera companies, and is equally at home on the West End stage as well as the concert platform.

Hale Hambleton studied at the Royal Academy of Music where he gained The Hawkes Prize and a German Government scholarship. For 35 years he has been Principal Clarinettist of the English National Opera, working also in the London Symphony Orchestra, where he recorded with composers such as Benjamin Britten and Luciano Berio and worked with conductors André Previn, Sir Georg Solti and George Szell amongst many others. He is a specialist reed maker and mouthpiece adjuster.

Jennifer Hamilton comes from the north of Scotland and trained as a singer at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where she subsequently returned as a Senior Lecturer in the Vocal and Opera Department.

Before returning to the UK to take up her current post of Head of Vocal Studies at Trinity Laban in 2017, she had been acting Head of Vocal, Opera and Drama Department at the TU Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama, having previously been a full-time member of the vocal teaching staff. During her time in Dublin, she was also Programme Leader for both the BMus and BA in Drama programmes.

Matthew Harding is the artistic director for Urban Interface Dance UK bringing an alternative composition to Hip-Hop and Contemporary Dance in theatre, film, and alternative spaces.

Guy Harries is a composer, sound artist and performer, working with electronics, acoustic instruments, voice and multimedia. His research explores the use of live electronics in music with a focus on dramaturgy, the performative and audience participation. His music releases include solo work and collaborations with the POW Ensemble, Meira Asher and Yumi Hara on the labels X-OR, Sub Rosa, Editorium Edizioni and Migro. His multimedia works include Stereo Dogs (2002), Nocturnaround (2004) and Imaginary Friends (2008/2013). His chamber opera work includes Jasser, which toured the Netherlands in 2006/7, and Two Caravans, which won the Flourish New Opera Prize and was produced by Kameroperahuis NL and OperaUpClose London. He has also created a number of participatory audiovisual installations, including Shadowgraphs (2009 – Stephen Lawrence Gallery) and Erotolalia (2011 – Prince Charles Cinema). He completed his PhD in Electroacoustic Music at City University and teaches at the University of East London and Trinity Laban.

Hayden is Professor of Composition at Trinity Laban.

Sam Hayden studied composition with Martin Butler, Michael Finnissy and Jonathan Harvey (University of Sussex), Louis Andriessen (Royal Conservatory, The Hague) and Brian Ferneyhough (Stanford University). He has been the recipient of many awards including first prize in the 1995 Benjamin Britten International Competition and the 2003 Christoph Delz Foundation Competition for Composers. He has undertaken residencies at the Civitella Ranieri Center (Umbria) and the Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart) and computer music collaborations with NOTAM (Oslo) and the Centre Henri Pousseur (Liège). His work utilises computer-assisted compositional techniques combining spectralist and stochastic approaches.

Amelia is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at Trinity Laban. She specialises in performing arts injury and rehabilitation.

Colette is a dance specialist physiotherapist at Trinity Laban. Through her work she has treated pre-professional and professional dancers from a variety of genres, West-End artists and musicians.

Described by the Guardian as “eclectic, eccentric, and unobtrusively erudite”, Bruno Heinen is a London-based contemporary improvising pianist, composer and educator.

Before taking up a teaching post, he was offered the post of Co-Principal Trumpet with the English National Opera orchestra where he remained for seven years, before moving on to the BBC Concert Orchestra as Principal Cornet.

Born in Manchester, Melanie studied Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute at the Royal Academy of Music.

As a soloist and ensemble player Melanie has made numerous recordings and performed in concerts worldwide. She has performed with many orchestras in the UK, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed in productions at the Royal National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Recent highlights include concerts and an album launch with the contemporary music group Sounds Positive, Jack and the Beanstalk at the Hackney Empire, a production of The Tempest (Globe Theatre) and tours with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Rambert and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Richard is a Bass Trombone specialist performing on hundreds of sessions in film, theatre, popular, commercial and TV sound tracks. He is known for his work in many large jazz ensembles, from 1940s big band swing to contemporary jazz orchestras and anything in between or outside. He spent many years touring and recording with the bands of two prominent and influential contemporary American jazz artists, Carla Bley and George Russell.
