New Lights Festival 2025

New Lights Festival gives Trinity Laban students the opportunity to explore and push the boundaries of new music, performance and multimedia collaborations. Each year it has grown, allowing for an ever evolving scope of contemporary performance events.

Highlights include the Gladys Puttick Improvisation Competition, showcasing the spontaneous creativity of young musicians. On June 17, a special concert honors the late composer and Trinity Laban staff member Anthony Green. Sonatas and Interludes explores John Cage’s pioneering compositions.

On June 20, Fusions celebrates the intersection of diverse musical traditions, and 100 Years of Greek Music in Context delves into the cultural significance of Greek music. The festival concludes with Opera Scenarios, an exploration of new operatic works.

The New Lights Festival is an unmissable opportunity to witness the cutting edge of musical innovation and performance. All of the events are free, find out more below.
