This year’s BRIT Awards saw The Last Dinner Party win Best New Artist 2025 and perform their breakout hit “Nothing Matters” with Trinity Laban alumni Aurora Nishevci and Nathan Durasamy’s string arrangement backing track. The alternative rock band performed their debut single on-stage alongside several Trinity Laban string musicians.
British indie rock band The Last Dinner Party features Abigail Morris (vocals), Trinity Laban alum Aurora Nishevci (keys, vocals), Lizzie Mayland (vocals, guitar), Emily Roberts (lead guitar, mandolin, flute), Georgia Davies (bass), and guest drummer Rebekah Rayner. The Last Dinner Party received nominations in four categories: Mastercard Album Of The Year for Prelude to Ecstasy, Group of The Year (won by Ezra Collective), Best Alternative / Rock Act (promoted by Absolute Radio), and Best New Artist, taking home the trophy for the latter.
Last year, The Last Dinner Party released their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy, which quickly skyrocketed to the Number 1 spot in the UK Chart. It marked the UK’s biggest first week-selling debut album in nine years, receiving a nomination for the Mercury Prize. In the same year, the band were announced as winners of the BRITs Rising Star Award and BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024, and took their music on a world tour.
Joining them on stage at the BRITs for a striking performance of “Nothing Matters” were Trinity Laban alumni Helena Sánchez, Cristina Morell, Colli Chan, Columba Dromgoole-Cavazzi, Joy Martina Peter, Shabnam Gould, Melody Lin, Niamh Sanders, Enzo Manuel dell’Oglio, and master’s student Samyuktha Rajagopal.
Speaking live on stage at the O2 Arena in London, Georgia Davies said: “This is truly the biggest honour of our lives. We won the Rising Star last year, and it means so much to come back and win this award against such incredible competition. We want to thank everyone we’ve ever met, including our team, family friends, our parents – we love you!”
