The final round of our prestigious Soloists’ Competition took place this week at Blackheath Halls. Master’s student and violinist Samyuktha Rajagopal won first prize in this year’s competition.
Our brilliant finalists – flautist Juliet Beadle, pianist Minah Lee, and violinist Samyuktha Rajagopal – showcased their exceptional skill and musicality for the chance to win a cash prize. Juliet performed a beautiful rendition of Carl Nielsen’s Flute Concerto, while Minah masterfully interpreted Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, and Samyuktha performed Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 23 in G Major. The competition adjudicators were Artistic Director Aleksander Szram, composer and alum Effy Efthymiou, and renowned soprano Claire Booth. Congratulations to winner Samyuktha Rajagopal, whose performance comes a week after she took the stage with The Last Dinner Party at the BRIT Awards.
