Mugler Creators film wins prize at Berlin Fashion Film Festival

The Mugler Creators film, spotlighting students from Trinity Laban, has won the Luxury (haute couture) award at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival. It was also shortlisted in the Craft category for best cinematography and best direction.

Each year, Berlin Fashion Film Festival welcomes the community’s top creatives in a celebration of visual storytelling and apparel arts. Since 2012, this international occasion has acknowledged innovations in the field with networking events and film awards. Together with the fashion and film community, BFFF defines state of the art filmmaking and great storytelling. The annual BFFF Awards honor and celebrate the world’s best motion pictures for luxury, fashion, and lifestyle. The Berlin Fashion Film Festival has shaped cutting-edge filmmaking and brand storytelling, with over 10,000 fashion films from 30+ countries. The jury includes leading creative talent, including Michael Lentz (Art Director NASA), Maya Penn (Award-winning Director, Animator, Filmmaker, Eco-Designer Uppendo! Productions), and Dr Deborah Nadoolman Landis (Direcotr & Professor David C. Copley Center for Costume Design UCLA).

This year, Trinity Laban partners with Mugler and One Dance UK to launch the Mugler Creators Program in the United Kingdom. This visionary initiative provides scholarships to promising young artists in contemporary dance and popular music in financial need. Through this partnership with Mugler and the national support organisation for dance, One Dance UK, Trinity Laban is able to award seven new scholarships for incoming students in these disciplines. The initiative is accompanied by a short film, featuring students from Trinity Laban and Purchase College New York. The film is directed by British-Tunisian director Félicity Ben Rejeb Price, renowned for her creative and progressive vision and a portfolio that includes collaborations with global icons in the entertainment and fashion industry. The cinematic expression not only celebrates the initiative, but also showcases student talent and the transformative power of creativity. Movement design for Trinity Laban students was choreographed by our BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance programme leader Stephanie Schober. It is a vibrant tribute to all the creators, capturing the dedication of talented students in the pursuit of their artistic dreams.
