Trinity Laban is absolutely thrilled to receive £664,518 funding over the next 3 years from The Leverhulme Trust, supporting a range of art forms at all levels of training.
The continued relationship with the Trust awards Leverhulme Arts Scholarships for postgraduate dance and music, and for the first time funds undergraduate music and musical theatre.
Significantly, we have received a transformational uplift for our Junior Trinity and CAT programmes, ensuring we can award bursaries for under 18s and build pathways into conservatoire training.
We view performing arts education and training as a continuum and our activities range from providing children with their first encounters with dance and music to providing world class professional training. Our Junior Trinity and Dance CAT provide high quality training to young people with exceptional potential.
Principal Professor Anthony Bowne says:
We are over the moon with this outcome. This funding from The Leverhulme Trust will allow us to invest heavily in securing places for the performing artists of the future, and provide significant opportunities to continue our work supporting young people from all backgrounds to enrich their lives with world class education in music and dance. We are truly grateful, particularly as the breadth of the funding recognises our importance as a conservatoire that works across art forms.
Trinity Laban is committed to reducing barriers to conservatoire training. Currently, around one third of our students receive some form of financial support. We work tirelessly to identify funding that will enable increased access to our world-leading artistic training for all talented students. Find out about supporting us.
